Can anyone be hypnotised?
Yes, anyone can be hypnotised, provided they want to be. No-one can be hypnotised against their will.
Will I be asleep?
No, you are not asleep during hypnosis. You are fully aware of what is happening and what is being said to you. You just feel very relaxed.
Will you be able to control my mind?
No, absolutely not, this is a common misconception. Hypnotherapy is all about you having more control of your own mind. If your subconscious mind didn't agree with anything that was said, it would just ignore it.
Surely a stage hypnotist could control my mind?
No. If someone volunteers to be hypnotised by a stage hypnotist, they know they are going to be made an object of fun, but they are 'game for a laugh' and happy to go along with it. If someone was dragged out of the audience against their will, then whatever the stage hypnotist tried would not work. No hypnotist can make you do anything you don't want to do.
Are there any side effects?
No, there are absolutely no negative side effects from being hypnotised.
Can I get stuck in a trance?
No, it's impossible to get stuck in a trance. You can bring yourself back to full awareness at any time during the session.
Will I tell you something I don't want you to know?
No, you remain in control the whole time. If there is something that you prefer to keep private, then that is your choice.
Why choose hypnotherapy?
Because it can quickly resolve issues that could take months, or even years, to treat using other types of therapy. People underestimate the power of their own mind to do themselves good, as well as harm. Anyone who is motivated to change can achieve all their realistic goals.
What is regression therapy?
It is simply a means of revisiting past experiences, in order to resolve current issues.
